North East Penn Section (established 1967)
The mission of the American Society of Highway Engineers is to provide a forum for members and partners of the highway industry to promote a safe, efficient and sustainable transportation system through education, innovation and fellowship.
The American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) is the premier national organization for transportation professionals. Originally incorporated in Pennsylvania in 1958, the organization now has over 6,900 members across 43 sections nationwide. The mission of the American Society of Highway Engineers is to provide a forum for members and partners of the transportation industry to promote a safe, efficient and sustainable transportation system through education, innovation and fellowship.
The North East Penn Section was chartered on April 12, 1967 as the twelfth ASHE Section. The Section services transportation professionals northeastern Pennsylvania and the PennDOT District 4-0 area which includes Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne and Wyoming Counties. As a section, we provide a platform for professionals to engage with peers and share their professional accomplishments and experiences. Our meetings are typically held on the second Tuesday of each month except in the summer months, and allow attendees to expand their professional knowledge and professional contacts. We support students pursuing careers in transportation by providing yearly scholarships and student meetings.
